Our little guy is now 3!!!

Kyle turned 3 this week. We had a little party for him last weekend. He got a new bike and Dad rigged up a trailer for him to pull! He is loving it and plays outside as much as possible. Cody waits for Kyle to nap then he goes out and rides the bike too. Grammy & Papa got him a horn, license plate with his name on it and a Elmo bag that hooks on the handle bars. The boy is all set!!

Awanas Car Race

The kids made cars (with Dad's help) out of a wood block for the Awanas Car Race. Here they are painting them. Sarah won a trophy for the most unique kids design. We all have a good time and the kids' cars were fast... Just not quite fast enough to win.

The new tile

Here is the new tile before it was grouted. So far we are happy with the new look. Now we just have to grout, seal, and chaulk it and we'll be ready to shower again!

The tub and tile after demo

Here is what was left when we were done! There's gonna be more than one trip to the dump before we are done with this project.

Let the Demo Begin!!!

Well we decided to remodel the bathroom, starting with replacing the tub and surrounding tile. The kids helped with the tile, they all seemed to have a good time beating on the wall without getting in trouble!

The kids and I just had a good time hammering and taking our frustrations out on the tile... Joe on the other hand just wanted to make less trips to the trailer.

My Letter to Santa

I found this somewhere and thought now if I was to write a letter to Santa this is how it how probably look. I do love my job as a stay at home mom and am very blessed and thankful to have a husband that is willing to work hard and make sacrifices in order for me to be able to do so. But then there are those days when this stuff would be nice... and then I remember that I have the best job, God chose me to stay at home and help to raise the kids. And what a special gift he has given to me in each of the kids.

Dear Santa,
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned, and cuddled my three children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than the doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground and figured out how to attach nine patches onto my daughter's girl scout sash with staples and glue gun.
I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find any more free time in the next 18 years.
Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache after a day of chasing kids (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to carry a screaming toddler out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.
I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in my last pregnancy.
If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like a car with fingerprintresistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.
On the practical side, I could use a talking daughter (son) doll that says "Yes, mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with one pottytrained toddler, two kids who don't fight, and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.
I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting, "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.
And please don't forget the Playdoh Travel Pack, the stocking stuffer this year for mothers of preschoolers. It comes in three fluorescent colors and is guaranteed to crumble on any carpet, making the Inlaws' house seem just like mine.
If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a styrofoam container.
If you don't mind I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family; or if my toddler didn't look so cute sneaking downstairs to eat contraband ice cream in his pajamas at midnight.
Well, Santa, the dryer in buzzing and the phone is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the chimney and come in and dry off by the fire so you don't catch cold. Help yourself to cookies on the table, but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours always . . . . . Mom
P.S. One more thing . . . you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in you.

Wow, how time flies!

I can't believe that its December already! We put up the Christmas tree last weekend and let the kids decorate it. It's not the prettiest tree but the kids had a good time doing it.
Dog was even in on the whole decorating thing. What a good family pet, to let you put on a Santa hat and take her picture. We are very lucy to have such a good dog. Even though she sometimes drives us crazy she loves the kids and they love her!

Sarah got her hair cut!!

Cathy was in town yesterday and measured Sarah's hair and it was finally long enough to cut for Locks of Love. Sarah has been wanting to get her hair cut shorter for awhile now but has been waiting until it was long enough to cut the 10-12 inches required for a Locks of Love donation. She is such a sweet little girl to want to give to other kids that need hair pieces made.
Sarah sure does look different, but mornings sure are easier with short hair!!
